CoverCount for restaurants & bars

A reservation system built around your floor — not someone else's network.

Every reservation, every walk-in, every host-stand conversation in one tool your team will actually use. No per-cover fees on your busiest Saturday. No cut of your deposits. Every guest is your guest, not a marketplace's.

A restaurant host greeting an arriving couple on a busy Friday night

What it looks like

A normal Friday, run from one screen.

No shadow spreadsheet, no per-cover bill at the end of the month, no host stand stacked with printouts.

A full restaurant table mid-meal with friends laughing over shared plates
Service starts at 5:00
Open the floor view on the host iPad and see every reservation by hour. Tables coloured by status. Reservations check themselves in by SMS reply on the way in the door.
A 6-top wants the patio
The widget already knows your patio holds tables that combine for six. It offered the slot, the deposit was collected, the duration rule says 105 minutes. Service knows what's next.
The cocktail counter sells out
Six seats at the bar, two services a night, deposit per seat on the tasting flight. The booking widget handles the math, the bar manager sees the night at a glance, and a no-show forfeits without anyone chasing.
A walk-in shows up at 7:15
Hosts adds them to the waitlist, the guest steps out for a drink, gets a text when their table opens up, replies yes, and walks back in. No clipboard, no one circling the host stand.
A no-show at 8:00
The deposit forfeits automatically per the policy you set. Your manager doesn't chase, your staff doesn't argue, your bookkeeping doesn't break.
A buyout request arrives
A private-event inquiry comes in through your site — party size, date, occasion, budget. It lands in a workable inbox, not someone's personal email. You reply, confirm, and it becomes a real reservation on the floor.
After service
Post-visit ratings go out automatically. You see covers, average spend, no-show rate, and revenue by service — without anyone exporting a spreadsheet.

Why operators switch

Stop paying for your own bookings.

Independent operators have told us the same three things for a decade.

No per-cover fees, ever.
A great Saturday shouldn't come with a bigger invoice from your reservation vendor. Flat, predictable monthly pricing per venue.
No revenue share on prepayments.
Deposits settle to your account, in full. We don't take a cut. Not at any tier.
Your guests are your guests.
Full visit history, tags, and contact info on every guest. Export anytime. When you leave, your list comes with you.
No contracts, cancel anytime.
Self-serve cancellation through your account. No phone calls, no "let me transfer you to retention."

What you get on day one

Built for how restaurants actually run service.

Floor plan that reads across the room
Rooms, sections, and tables in a drag-and-drop editor. Round-robin or by-section server rotation. Status colours readable on a 12-inch tablet from across the dining room.
Table-aware availability
The widget won't offer a slot you can't actually seat. Party-size duration rules, combined-table seating, and public party caps mean no oversold Saturday.
Two-way SMS waitlist
Walk-ins step out for a drink. When the table is ready your host texts them; they reply yes; they walk in. No one camping the host stand for an update.
Deposits without a cut
Protect your peak slots and tasting menus. Cancellation windows you set. Late cancels forfeit automatically. Your account, your funds, our 0% take rate.
Private events without the back-and-forth
A private-event request inbox right on your site. Buyouts and private dinners route to one place, not someone's email. Confirmed events become real reservations.
A CRM that actually helps service
Tags, allergens, big-spender flags, visit history. Your host sees who's a regular before they walk in. Your kitchen sees the gluten-free note before the order goes in.

Which plan

Most independent restaurants start on Growth.

Starter handles the operations core — reservations, floor plan, in-house waitlist, deposits, CRM. Growth adds the things most restaurants actually want from day one: branded confirmation and reminder emails, custom widget styling on your site, two-way SMS waitlist threads, advanced reporting, and a private-events inbox so your buyout requests stop living in someone's inbox.

Venue+ is for restaurants that want Square POS sync, the booking API for third-party tools, or marketing automation on top.

Restaurant FAQ

The questions independents ask.

Will my OpenTable / Tock / Resy guests still find me?
Your guests find you the same way they find any good restaurant: through your website, search, social, and word of mouth. CoverCount doesn't run a marketplace, which is also why we don't charge a per-cover fee. The booking widget lives on your site; guests book direct.
How do I import my existing reservations and customer list?
We help you import customers, upcoming reservations, and basic tags from OpenTable, Tock, or Resy as part of onboarding. No per-migration fee.
Can I take deposits on tasting menus and prime slots?
Yes — per-experience rules let you require a deposit on the chef's table without bothering the 2-top at the bar. Funds settle to your account; we don't take a cut.
What about private dining and buyouts?
A dedicated Private Events inbox on Growth. Guests submit requests on your site with the basics; you reply, confirm, and the event becomes a real reservation on the floor.
Does this work for multi-room restaurants?
Yes. Multiple rooms / spaces are included on every tier — patio, main dining, private — with their own sections and floor plans. We don't gate that behind the top tier.
Does this work for bar programs and cocktail destinations?
Yes. Counter seating, per-experience deposits on cocktail flights, two-way SMS waitlist for prestige bars with limited seats, and Public Events for cocktail classes and themed nights — all in the same toolset as the restaurant operations.
What if I'm coming off a per-cover contract?
21-day free trial; no card required to start. We help you parallel-run while your old contract winds down. Once you switch, your monthly bill is the same on a busy Saturday as a quiet Tuesday.

Bring your floor plan. We'll have you booking by next service.
