Product
Everything you need to run service. One tool. Built for owner-operators.
CoverCount brings reservations, waitlist, deposits, floor planning, events, and guest communications into a single system. Designed around how service actually runs — by someone who has run it.
Reservations
Included in StarterTable-aware availability that never oversells.
Every booking is checked against the actual shape of your floor — experiences, party-size duration rules, guest pacing limits, combined-table seating, and the seats your tables can actually hold. If a reservation can't fit, the widget won't offer it.
- Experiences
- Dining, tasting, private dining, classes — each with its own rules and optional pre-visit questions.
- Duration rules
- Different turn times by party size. A 2-top turns faster than a 6-top.
- Combined tables
- Pre-configured table combinations for bigger parties. Picked automatically.
- Public party caps
- Cap self-service party size per experience. Large parties get a "contact us" path.
Waitlist
Included in Starter Two-way + public on GrowthA waitlist that works itself.
A live host queue your team can run on a quiet Tuesday or a 90-minute-wait Friday. When a table opens up that matches a waiting party's size, your guest gets a text. They reply YES, you seat them. No reply inside your window and it moves on to the next party — nobody hangs around the host stand asking for an update.
On Growth, two-way threads let your host actually chat with waiting guests, and you can open the waitlist on your booking page so people don't have to be standing at the door to join.
Deposits & policy
Included in StarterProtect your best slots without scaring off guests.
You take a deposit when it matters — peak slots, tasting menus, large parties. Your account, your funds. We don't take a cut of your prepayments, ever.
Cancellation windows are yours to set. Late cancels and no-shows forfeit automatically, so your staff isn't chasing — and refunds are one click when you decide to make it right.
- Per-experience rules
- Different policies for different services. Deposit on the tasting menu, not on the 2-top at the bar.
- Card-on-file holds
- Hold a card to back up the reservation, only capture on no-show.
Floor plan
Included in StarterRooms, sections, and servers — readable across the room.
A drag-and-drop editor for rooms (patio, main dining, private), sections within them, and tables. Map servers to sections or run a round-robin rotation. The live floor view is readable from across the host stand during service, with table status color-coded so a glance tells you what you need.
A separate timeline view shows the night by hour — useful for planning, useful for spotting the 90-minute crunch before it happens.
Native apps
Coming soonRun service where service happens.
An iPad and Mac app for the host stand. An iPhone app your staff can install on their own phones for event check-in. The same platform — on the devices your team actually uses on the floor.
iPad & Mac
Host stand — built for touch, designed to be read across the room.
Live floor view, reservations, waitlist, and walk-ins — the four workflows that actually run a service. Built for iPad first, runs natively on Apple Silicon Macs. Hosts can drag a party from the waitlist to a table, mark a reservation seated with a tap, or take a walk-in straight into a hold.
- Touch-first
- Big tap targets. Gestures for seat, move, and start.
- Offline-friendly
- Wi-Fi blip during service? The host stand keeps moving.
iPhone
Event check-in — on the iPhone your staffer already carries.
For ticketed events, staff install the app on their own iPhone. Scan a confirmation code or tap a name. Real-time attendee count visible to the rest of the team. No purchased tablets, no rented hardware, no line at the door.
- BYOD
- Staff use phones they already own. Nothing to buy.
- Live attendee status
- Every staffer sees who's checked in and who hasn't.
Native, not wrappers. No per-device fees and no app-store fees passed to you. The iPad/Mac host-stand app runs against the same platform as the web app; the iPhone check-in app is staff-BYOD and free for your team.
Private Events
GrowthBuyouts and private dinners, without the back-and-forth.
Guests submit a request on your site with the basics — date, party size, occasion, budget. It lands in a private inbox your team works through, status by status. Confirmed events become real reservations on your floor; declined ones get a clean reply.
No more event inquiries living in someone's email and disappearing on PTO day.
Public Events
GrowthSell tickets to your wine dinners, classes, and release weekends.
Hosted event pages on your brand and an embeddable listing for your site. Free or paid registration, real seat caps, sales cutoffs, refund cutoffs, tax, and automated reminders 24 hours before the event.
Your account, your funds. We don't take a cut of ticket sales — not at any tier.
Communications
Included in Starter Branded + two-way on GrowthConfirmations, reminders, and replies that show up on time.
Reservation confirmations, reminders, and post-visit notes all sent on a schedule you control. When a guest replies YES, CANCEL, or asks a question, it lands on the reservation so your staff doesn't have to dig.
- Confirmations & reminders
- Guests confirm by replying to a text or clicking an email link. No phone? Email still works.
- Reply-aware
- Replies thread back to the right reservation. STOP and START opt-outs are handled automatically.
- Branded emails Growth
- Your logo, your colors. Confirmation, reminder, receipt, refund, and review-request emails — all on-brand.
- Editable templates
- Change the wording without touching the layout. Venue name, dates, links — safely.
Integrations
Venue+Plugs into the systems you already run.
Integrations on CoverCount are real two-way syncs, not one-time exports. They're available on Venue+, and the integration roadmap is open — if there's one you need, tell us and we'll prioritize it.
- Square POS
- Link reservation guests to POS customers and checks. See spend history on the guest profile and let your floor staff connect the table to the tab.
- Clover POS
- Connect the restaurant POS many teams already run. Match guests to Clover customers and keep open-order context visible during service.
- Vinoshipper wine club
- Wine-club members get the right tags automatically. Your tasting room host sees who's a member before they walk in.
- Booking API
- Connect your own tools — concierge systems, custom marketing, hotel PMS. Authenticated keys you manage.
Switching from OpenTable, Resy, or Tock? Our team migrates your guests and reservations for you — no per-migration fee. More on the way: Toast POS and marketing-tool connectors. Talk to us about what would unblock your switch.
